A small, handy cutting board for convenience. Sizes are 8"x8", and around one inch thick. Each board is unique as wood varies on each one, and they are made out of either walnut or maple. A leather strap is used for easy hanging. They are made with practicality and affordability in mind!
While searching through wood to replicate my grandmother's favorite little cutting board, I found tons of cutoffs and reject pieces. Pieces too small, boards with cracks and knots, but a whole lot of character, just like Mamaw. She never needed fancy things. Functionality is always more important to her than perfection. I think sometimes we let the quest for perfection and doing things the “right” way stifle our creativity. I know I certainly do. That didn’t click until I made a “Mamaw Board.” Its the perfect size for quick cutting, doesn’t take up a lot of room, and doesn’t break the bank. Practical, unique, and special. Just like Mamaw.
